8th European Kongres of Local Authorities

This week our Executive Director of CRLDS, Luiza Hoxhaj, was the pleasure of being part as a panelist on the 8th European Congress of Local Government (Economic Forum) in Mikolajki, Poland, 6-7 March 2023 with main theme: "New Solidarity for a New Era". 
After the plenary session on the second day of work She had the opportunity to speak on the panel with the topic: "The Role and Current Challenges of European Groupings of Territorial Cooperation". The panel was preceded by a presentation by the Mayor of Milanowek, introduced by Angelika Swoboda.
 
It was a pleasure to share opinions, knowledge and experience with a panel composed of excellent experts and connoisseurs of the topic moderated with an excellent competence by Mr. Roger Casale, CEO, New Europeans International, United Kingdom, with knowledge and experience gained as a former member of the British Parliament, as part of the executive and civil society; as well as the invited speakers:Oleg Vostrykh, President, Foundation "High School of Professional Politics", Ukraine; Serhii Tatusiak, Chairman, NGO "Ukraine-Poland-Germany", Ukraine; Radoslaw Brodzik, Director for Foreign Cooperation and EWT, Lubuskie Voivodeship Council, Poland; Luiza Hoxhaj, Executive Director, Center for European Policy Studies on Local and Regional Development, Albania. After the presentations and questions from the audience, we held discussions with the participants. We had a very productive exchange on a lot of key points.

During the days of the congress, She held meetings with mayors such as with: Lady Jeanette Ovesson, Kommunstyrelsens chairperson of Simrishamns kommun, Sweden and the Lady Olena Buturlym, Mayor of Ichnia, Ukraine, Mr. Sergii Tatusiak, Internationa Non Governmental Organization Ukraine-Poland-Germany and member of the Ukrainian Parliament, Mr. Andrezej Skrzydio from the Foundation Institute for Eastern Studies, Dr. Armand Aliu from the University of Krakow, Prof. Dr. Erkan Erdemir, Rector of New York University, Tirana, Binay Kumar Singh, President, Federation of Global Maritime, Community, India, Jaakko Mikkola, Regional Mayor, The Regional Council of Kymenlaakso, Finland, Jonas Andersen Sayed, Mayor, Municipality Sokndal, Norway expert and representative of civil society organizations, with whom we discussed common challenges and spaces for cooperation in the future, which we will make known in the following posts. Special was the meeting with Mr. John Grogan, former member of the British Parliament and head of the UK-Albania friendship group. Many of them invited Her to their events, while some others promised to participate in our Forum FoRLED 2023.
